Up Into Space We Go

                                                           

Hello Fellow Crafters and Noobs,

Today we will be talking about Space Engineers. If you haven't heard of this this game it's a lot of fun. My only compliant about it is that it can be slow and lag your computer when you build bigger ships or go onto steam and find a huge build like this one  in the picture bellow .

There are quite a few builds and mods available from a huge range of space based sci-fi and even real NASA, ESA, and Russian projects. Keep in mind this game is basically still somewhat new, so look for regular updates every Tuesday, including new features and mods being added.

Your also probably wondering about the price tag on this game, well it usually sells for $25.00 on Steam but sometimes it goes on sale. I got my copy via Humble Bundle for $9, about a month ago, and I have seen the game on Humble Bundle a few times previous. If your unfamiliar with Humble Bundle its a service where you can buy games, ebooks, and occasionally downloadable music and movies at a discounted price. The best part of Humble Bundle is that a portion of the money you spend on these items money goes to a number of charities including children's, poverty and cancer charity's, like St. Judes, UNICEF, and Child's Play.

As far as game play it can be slow and lagy on certain computers (like mine) but it is a spectacular looking and playing gaming. Like our beloved Minecraft it has both creative and survival modes, and plenty of room to let your imagination run wild.  The survival mode lets you tackle the problems of living and building in space like managing the resources you need  and energy to work, especially hydrogen for your jet pack. I found this to be a really nice touch since it hits home the reality of what it would be like to work in space. 

The creative mode lets you do whatever you want much like in Minecraft, but with the added bonus of having fun with mods. As previously mentioned there are a huge number of mods including Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Warhammer, Halo, and many more. To me this is one of the best parts of the game.

I know it's been a long, long time since I wrote in here last but now I'm back and better than ever.

Both Minecraft and I have grown a lot over the last few years, and what use to be a simple blocky survival game, has become a huge phenomenon and community. The game has millions of mods now, spin offs alá Minecraft: Story Mode, clones and even games inspired by MInecraft like Terraria, and Space Engineers to name a few. So needless to say there is a lot for me to talk about, which is why I change the name of my blog.

Today I'd like to talk about Minecraft: Story Mode.

This game has been another Minecraft success story, this game is great if you think you have to buy every single episode you are wrong this game comes with a season pass it comes with all 5 but the 4 more you buy yourself I won't try to spoil the game. But if you like me to suggest which gaming system to use I suggest Xbox One but there are many other systems you can use. That's it for today's blog but tomorrow is a new day and a new blog.

More Tips for Noobs at Minecraft

When it comes to feeding your "Steve" the deeper you get into the game the more options you will have. Keep in mind that the better the quality of food the more quickly your Steve can recover. A good loaf of bread for instance can help you get back a little of what you lost well out hunting and fighting with monsters at night. 

You make bread by harvesting wheat which you may have to grow, but can sometimes find wild. 

You can also get eggs from the many chickens walking around and perhaps fencing them in. You can get sugar cane in the wild as well then craft it into sugar. In also helps to craft yourself a bucket it's easy to do, do you can then go to a cow and milk it. It actually is at much work as it sounds like but it's worth it on those long dangerous nights hunting down monsters, to help you recover faster. 

There are fun things you can make too. You can also craft a pumpkin pie with eggs, pumpkin, and sugar, or craft yourself a cookie with coco-beans from a dungeon, or coco-plants from a jungle tree.

As you play the game at first you won't really be able to see if Steve is hungry or not. It's not like The Sims where there is an individual meter that tells you how he's doing hunger and sleep wise. You just have to watch the level of hearts and try to keep food on hand and rest when you can to keep those up. 

You will learn quickly that poor Steve may not always be able to get sleep at night becuase monsters are to close. So food is a kind of on the go recovery method.
